Ordered a custom springfield trp pro, and paid in full. Waited 28 months! All I ask was no one mess with MY new gun when it finally came in. Well the assclown behind the counter decided it would be fun to play around with MY gun while I finished paperwork. At first he didn't even realize that it came with magazines, but once he found them under the foam, he thought it would be a good idea to put one in and lock back the slide. We all know what's next, you guessed it. How cool is it to let that slide slam shut? Never mind there's an empty chamber. When I told him to put the gun down and to never, I mean never release the slide without a round in the chamber on an auto with a tuned action, he scolded me like it was my fault. Regardless of who's side of the issue that your on," this does/doesn't damage the finely tuned internals of your pistol" doesn't matter. It is not his gun to be handling in any manner he sees fit. Further I tried explaining that it's written in springfield's owner's manual to not treat their guns in such a manner as it will ruin their tuned action. He then said if I had something to teach him he would be outside and cursed at me. When I finished my transaction and left the store the employee followed me outside. As soon as we were in parking lot he ask "what I had to teach him?" I replied that maybe he should consider reading the owner's manuals for custom .45's. This prompted our friend to lean into me nudging me with his shoulder, trying to force a physical confrontation. That's about it, he wanted to fight, I wanted him to open his mind to the possibility that he may learn something from the world class engineers that design and build one of the last handmade works of art in USA firearms.

Ya coulda pistol whipped him with the .45 but that probably voids the warranty"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness; I love only that which they defend.

Did you talk to his manager? If not, you should. People like this, if left unpunished, generally develop into bigger idiots, the longer they're not slapped down.

I would definitely complain to the guy's supervisor. No way in hell he should be working in a service job, let alone at a gun shop. If someone like that worked for/with me, I would make him gone."Far and away the best prize life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." - Theodore Roosevelt
