Is the OP thinking about the LAPD pistol range on Gaffey?

As long as it's not on the water, I'm interested - I get seasick.

I would be there at least once a week! Make sure you have good weekend hours.

I would be so interested. I live in the south bay and am a member of West End Gun Club, but with the travel time a day there is an all day event.

I'd be interested. Its much closer to where I go now... and I go to the range twice a month or so (re: I'm a actual "consumer" in the shooting range market).

              PS
I like my current place (no issues with the ROs and such). So there would be a bar set for good service though.

Just do a google satellite map search of San Pedro, and you will see that even surrounding the police range are housing tracks. I live about 2 blocks from the lb police range (and yes I'd miss the open to the public police pistol range) - and as much as I love shooting, it's annoying to listen to police live fire drills on Friday nights for hours.

I'd be there at least a couple of times a month!

Sounds like it'd have to be on Terminal Island or someplace. I don't think theres's 547 linear yards over level ground in the 90731/90732 where you wouldn't hit a building/fuel depot/pipeline or walking/biking trail.

The police range on Gaffey is too small for anything but pistol although it is outdoors and would lend itself quite nicely for tactical drills and competitions on a small scale. There is a nice steep hillside behind it which makes for a superb backstop in a couple of directions.

At any rate, I'd be there every week for sure! It'd make a helluva dent in the ammo budget which would be partly offset by savings in gas/wear and tear on the car etc.
