    New range in LA Harbor?

I am looking at getting a guage as to how many folks would be interested and visit a gun range for pistol and rifle (up to 500m) in the San Pedro area? I know there are ranges in the area but I'm hoping that the range I am projecting will make a difference. Please let me know your thoughts/concerns. Thanks.

              500 meters = 547.8 yards!

              Heck, yeah!!

Try to keep it inexpensive and Ammo availability is a plus!

Not to pee in your cherrios - but you think in a highly populated area like San Pedro you're going to find a place where there aren't people who are going to complain about the noise of a gun range in close proximity to their houses?

This is why San Gabriel Valley Gun Club shut down, this is why South Coast Gun Club shut down - people don't like to live next to shooting ranges.

But hey - you do it and I'll go - Pedro is much closer to Long Beach than Angeles...

500m Range in San Pedro? What dock are you thinking about putting it on?

I work in the harbor, and I can't think of anywhere you could put a range in Pedro that you'd have 500 meters.

I can't wait to see how this works out. I would definitely share some paychecks with you if you can get this to fly.

I'd patronize a place like that, especially a fellow calgunner owned range

The feds own a couple hundred (more?) acres around town they use a fuel depot and what not for the old navy base and yard.

I cant think of anywhere else in town that would have enough room and be far enough from neighbors.

Unless you mean out on terminal island or somewhere, which is a much better idea.

I hate to nitpick, but you realize that the city of LA will never allow a private party to build a range right? They even fight the only ones over it. The city council would burn down city hall and their pension checks along with it first.

Back in ye olden days, the 90's, the small police pistol rage on gaffey was open to the public on days the cops weren't using it. The NRA has been saying they are working with the LAPD to get it reopened.. They've been saying that for coming up on 20 years as far as I can tell.

I will also say that San Pedro is still very much a blue collar/union and military town.

That's means lots of guns. I live across from Ft MacArthur and this building is like an armed fortress. The mail room looks like the shipping department at Midway..

If you are looking for the highest concentration of NRA members in Los Angeles south of the Santa Monica mountains, I would look no further
