99% of dealers will not run the DROS if you check something wrong on the 4473, simply because it costs $25 and no one is paying that fee. Now, you might be a bit embarrassed because you checked the wrong box, but just go to another store and buy your gun. If youre not a felon, you will be fine. If you are the felon, either your DROS will fail OR the DOJ team will come break your door own somewhere between 1 and 24 months

That FFL is just being a dick, people make mistakes all the time, he should've just gave you another form.

When I did mine for my shotgun, I also made a mistake. There's a box that says "County" and I misread it as "Country" and enter "USA" instead of "Santa Clara". My FFL caught it and all I had to do was to cross it out, initial and I'm go.

I've witnessed other customer(s) at the gun store making an honest error on a DROS. The owner of the gun store didn't have a problem with giving the customer(s) another DROS form to fill out.

Haha.. it was dicks sporting goods. They weren't my first choice to buy from but they were the the only other ones with the shogun I wanted in stock and the cheapest price. The local shop near me has it for almost $100 more

Damn, that sucks. They were douchebags, though. Mistakes happen!

Honestly though, I've bought so many guns I don't even look at the questions anymore! I just answer yes to the first one, mark "no" for everything else, except the last question, which I leave blank.

If the dealer refuses to sell you a gun because you messed up on the 4473, when do you pay for the DROS?
