While-you-wait would not require that the item be serialzed... whether it was a gunsmith or not. To leave it and pick it up later would require it to done by a gunsmith, who would require that it was serialized so it could be entered into his book.
(This is why most gunsmiths won't touch a home build unless it's serialized)

Humm, buy or borrow a jig, get the pin holes for the hammer and trigger drilled with your own drill press. Take the rest and rent a CNC machine. Press the button and you should be good to go?

Hypothetically... that's what people are starting to wonder, and what the ATF is currently trying to figure out.

Of course, there's no way in hell I'm planning on being a test case, but if it turns out to be something do-able... it'll be a game changer.

if you file it flat you are at the surface if you dimple into the finished surface you have made a firearm

according to the atf being they rejected allowing the sale of castings with hammer, trigger, safety locator dimples

Any movement on this? You'd have to find a machine shop with ah FFL, but there must be some of them around.

For a machinist with an FFL, consult a gunsmith.

True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!
