To the OP, why not get both the TRP and Wilson? I have both the TRP Operator with the full rail and a Wilson Stainless Protector. I am very happy with both. I like the Wilson for its craftsmanship but seem to shoot better wth the TRP. As for customizing...I don't see a need to do anything else to either one.

but I have a S&W1911 very tight fit.

Rock Island Armory - An inexpensive way to get into 1911's and get a great shooting gun. I paid 400 for it. Look on the net for Rock's and they are quite popular and shoot great.

did you put those grips and sights on?i know most ria 1911s dont come with those on them,the tactical version comes with novak sights from what i`ve seen.
