m16, I'll never understand this stuff. At first I thought 3D printing was just a better way to CNC a part. I was way off..

NASA also used laser sintering to build complex parts for their evolution of the F1 rocket engine. I believe that it was for the turbopump, but I'd have to google that to be sure...
[EDIT]Okay, so I got a couple things wrong. First, NASA printed the injector for the rocket, and second, they used selective laser melting. NASA has been using these printers for a while, they're obviously great for rapid prototyping.
I'm curious about the barrel, will be interesting to see how long it lasts.Comment

As soon as i saw that I kinda wondered why they didn't go with a .22lr 1911 (like the Browning)...but the fact they can shoot 45 ACP without it exploding is pretty neat and I guess shows off that it can handle the pressures (withholding judgement on longevity of course)."Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not."Comment

20k psi is not something to be taken lightly, I would have kept that string on the trigger for more than a couple of shots before firing that thing in my hands.Comment
