I think the Chevron on 12 bridges was the last armed robbery in Aug.
That was one of the requirements, when we decided to move. I had my CCW in Sac County for around 12 years and I'd only move to a Pro-2A county.

I live in a court and I believe all are gun owners, except one that I know of. He and his wife have asked me to take them to the range because they want one. There's also a lot of LEO's and military that live in our court and neighborhood. I see a Placer County patrol car down the street parked in the driveway all of the time. I don't need to worry about anything going on in our court because the CDC officer down the street pretty much scares off any unknown persons that stop in the court. There's also a CHP officer that lives two houses down from him. My next door neighbor is Airforce and the one across the street is retired Army.

In the 19 months we've lived here there's only been a few car burglaries in a different community. The CHP officer went door to door to all of the neighbors to let us know to keep an eye out for suspicious persons. So far I like the community.

I have not yet seen the sign show up at my local Safeway. If it does, I'll take my business elsewhere.

One of my good friends is manager of a Safeway. He says that the stickers were mailed to the stores some time back, but they did NOT come from corporate (he couldn't remember the name on the envelope out), and the stores were NOT directed by corporate to put them up. He threw his out. He knows I carry in his store, and is totally cool with it.

Now there is a brain dead fool that doesn't deserve a CCW.

They don't have those signs here in VA. Safeway would lose a lot of business because VA is a shall issue state and many law abiding citizens would go to Giant or Harris Teeter if Safeway prohibited them from carrying. There are a lot of people with CCWs here.

            Good.

This leads to a possible response.

If one sees such a sign at the local grocery, you might ask, politely, to see the manager.

When that worthy appears, one should ask
-- were you directed to post that by corporate?
---- if yes, please ask to see the communication that imposed the requirement. That's the politer way to suggest 'I think you are lying to me'.
---- if no, further ask if it was the manager's own decision; you want to get someone to own the sign.

            Having gotten this far, ask
-- does it apply to uniformed police?
-- does it apply to plainclothes police and federal agents?
-- is it meant to apply to licensed carriers of concealed weapons?

            Ask
-- just what benefit is that sign expected to provide?

            And then ask
-- do you realize that [Lucky/whatever store] does NOT have that sign, and that it's just as convenient to shop there as Safeway?

            And finally ask
-- would you please take it down, right now, as I watch?

In my travels today, this is what I came across.

              Can you spot the sticker?

I stopped at two different stores in the Sac area.

The store just off I80 at Elkhorn and Diablo have none of the stickers posted at all.

The store closer to the Sunrise mall at Greenback and San Juan does have them. That is where I took the picture. (It's the little sticker just above the handicapped sign in middle divider window)

It's right next to the "No shoplifting allowed" sticker!

Yea, I have noticed a few other Safeways with these useless stickers as well. IMO the only reason anyone would put these up is to make the "sheeple" feel safer. In reality 99% of people don't even notice the small stickers, though. So really, they are almost certainly pointless, especially because the stickers alone hold no legal weight.

So the stickers that are up might not be approved by corporate... hmmm.

Wonder if corporate might be interested in knowing about them...

Very good Sir ! In fact its great ! I will copy your questions and use them next time I see a dumb sign.
Making someone own it should discourage nearly everyone from posting these goofball subliminal type messages .
