I had a similar thing happen with UPS - tracking said delivered on the ammo, the package was no where in site.

I called UPS and they told me I had to called Cabelas. I called Cabelas and they said they'll open an investigation with UPS.

2 days later the original UPS package arrived on my door...

Thank you, calling someone and yelling "who is this" is rude.

rude, uncivilized person: (after calling you) "who is this?"

Not really on topic, but I've had wrong numbers call me and then yell at me for their mistake!
I know all of my immediate neighbors. Definitely not them. If I got a wrong package I would walk it over to the correct address, heck I would even drive it over to the next town or give it back to UPS.

OP, call UPS back and give them that phone number for their investigation.
^^^^ That's a good idea. Check your phones caller list.

I would but they won't even let me start an investigation.

If you can find a driver in the area, ask him for the local center number, then call and speak to a supervisor. Have the tracking number handy, many trucks are equipped with gps and they can do a trace on the package to see where it was delivered. Even if gps is not available, maybe the driver will remember the package, or the stop where it was delivered, and get the situation resolved. You can call 1800pickups but it will take some time and the call center people many times are not so helpful.

          Thanks, will try

I have heard of them "losing" packages of weed. I guess they have scanners? Maybe they liked what was in my package and decided to "lose" it

Ive never had an issue with UPS here because I know the delivery guy personally, and he is a gun lover as well.

USPS, on the other hand, has lost several packages of mine, tracking shows them as delivered, but nothing, and my cameras show no attempt/theft etc. All but one package showed up a week or so later after I brought it up to the PO

That's suspect... I used to know the UPS driver but lately they have been changing quite a bit. Sounds like you have a cool security setup, I'd like to get a photo text to me of whoever rings my doorbell

Just point a $70 foscam IP camera at the door. You can set it to send you emails with photos when it detects motion. Coupled with a tablet, it can upload pictures to a dropbox account.
