What would you do? (UPS Problem)

So I ordered a package from LAK supply. Tracking number says it has been delivered. "Met customer woman". Neither myself nor my wife received the package. Got a phone call about the same time the package was delivered from an unrecognized number. They didn't even say hello they just said "who is this?" I asked who they were because they called me. Then they laughed and hung up. I think they opened my package and got my contact info from the receipt. I just want my package. Dang temporary holiday UPS workers probably.

Call UPS and raise some hell (make sure you have tracking info handy).
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

I called UPS and they said I would have to contact the sender to initiate an investigation. Anyone have a number for LAK?

Its not UPS fault. Your sender didn't request a signature on the item, UPS can deliver to anyone sitting in front of your house. How does the UPS guy know that a person sitting in front of a house doesn't live there.

Whatever you do, make sure no one in your house hands the UPS guy your firearms.

This is why I have my packages sent to my work. OP, good luck with the claim process. In my experience it could take over a week to resolve. YMMV

You've got the phone number of the chucklehead who took your pacakage. Get his address.

How do I get an address from a phone number? I don't have any proof that the two events are related, but whoever got the package is a thief in my book. Thanks for all the replies. I'm thinking I should just place another order while waiting for this to be resolved.

Had this happen before. Neighbors kept package for 4-5 days and than returned it. Package wasn't open, they just took it and returned it ok n a couple.days

I was wondering how often this happens. I get stuff left by UPS, Fedex, USPS all the time at my front door which is about 15ft from a heavily traveled sidewalk. No problems for me so far......

http://www.whitepages.com/ Put the number in the "reverse phone" box. If the number is listed, it will show up with a name and address.

I had this happen to me once (without the phone call), and it was an expensive item. A signature was required, but it didn't matter. The UPS guy still delivered to the wrong address. I told the sender, who did initiate an investigation. Not only that, but because it had to be signed for, we had the signer's signature (photocopy). It was difficult to read though.

After about a month, my father was curious and started checking other apartment complexes nearby. It turns out, my package was dropped off at the next apartment complex, and the Manager had my package!! They had a feeling it didn't belong to the tenant (well, no sh@t, it had my name on it), yet he didn't call the sender or UPS!! My father collected it, and I called the sender to tell them it was located.

If yours is similar, I'd be checking at nearby residences.

This happened to me twice. Each time it was a can of .50BMG yup...a big ammo can full of .50BMG

First time tracking said "delivered to: screen door, san clemente"
Second time it said "delivered to: front door, san clemente"

First time after the package was missing for two days there was a knock on my door and there's a lady holding the ammo can "Is this yours?" I said why yes it is and thanks for bringing it here. She said she and her husband opened the can and after they saw the ammo freaked out and debated whether to call the cops or not as they thought that it certainly couldn't be legal but then decided it was none of their business. Uh yeah thanks.

Second time they just called and said "another package is here!" I said thanks be right over.
