    Gun-banner Playbook Revealed

I just wanted to share this article from American Rifleman, in light of the current LAX events and its media coverage.

It's not a real secret either. You just have to actively seek membership in the anti-gun community groups and they will help you spread the anti-gun message according to your profession. So the strategy guide for Reporters isn't the same one for a Teacher or a Plumber.

Ask a gun owner, who is NOT a member of Calguns, what the "AW flow chart" is and they will say it doesn't exist.

I know Journalist who have been to meetings with the anti-gun groups and YES, they do have a strategy guide which directs those in the media who are members to push for over exposure of all gun incidents.

I've worked as a journalist for 20 years and can absolutely back up the charge that the job largely attracts Lefites (with the few Conservatives gravitating to Fox News or similar as they gradually get tired of being surrounded by strident loudmouths).

Of course the antis have a playbook, a media strategy guide for creating as much sympathy to their side as possible. Unfortunately for us, it's not great "optics" to strongly defend our 2nd A right after a Columbine, Newtown or LAX event. It looks like we don't care or are insensitive. And the recent play by LaPierre to use logic and say "we need more armed citizens to protect the defenseless from these lunatics" falls on purposefully unhearing (not deaf) ears owned by people who then distort that message while "reporting it." Or they position our spokespeople as lunatics, undermining their message as opposed to confronting it. Case in point is the way they have distorted and deflected our logic-based case that these shootings are a cultural/mental health/violence issue, not an solid reason for the total gun control they desire.

So they have a "media playbook"? Well, we have American Rifleman, which is also a playbook. Unfortunately, they have their operatives/influencers in the media who will run their plays on most of TV (NPRCNNCBSABCNBCMSNBSBLOOMBERGDAILYSHOWCOLBERT), online and in print and reach millions of unwitting, easily influenced people. We have Fox News, a few newspapers, Rush, Hannity and almost all of talk radio, which also reaches millions.

Unfortunately, their crocodile tears for the victims and innate ability to cast themselves as the sympathetic side while painting us as cold and "clinging to guns and religion" (that's right, BHO, looking at you), is gradually eroding our rights.

Sorry, just rambling, but I sometimes do...

#1: ALWAYS FOCUS ON EMOTIONAL AND VALUE-DRIVEN ARGUMENTS

#2: TELL STORIES WITH IMAGES AND FEELINGS

            Yup, sounds about right.
