i know ling's pretty well i've bought a number of guns from him over the year's
he does have some pretty tall tales. he can be nice or he can be a jerk it depends on when u come in. i don't deal with him as much anymore. he'll give u more respect if u appear older or are a regular customer.

I figured that my appearance might have played a role in the service, but honestly from a business point of view don't you want young shooters to-be to buy from you and give them a pleasant shopping experience as they may translate in to future business?

I figure if I want something that no one else is carrying his store might be considered if i really want the gun. But I better really want it.

The norinco with the wood stock was 500 and the one with the ATI stock was 550 or so (i think he said it comes with the original wood). Yugo 59/66 is 469(not sure at least 400+)

The store is located in the city of Hacienda Heights on the cross sections of Colima and Hacienda Blvd.

I've been there. Not a very friendly man. I tried calling a few times, most of the time there was no answer. And when he did answer, i finally asked what his price was on .223 ammo. His response ...
"you stop calling, i concentrating very hard on something, you come to shop to find out" *click*

Also, last time i tried going to his shop, he was closed for the first 2-3 hours of his normal shop hours. Shop needs dusting/ organizing. very small store, about 3-4 people might fit in (comfortably). Not a very reliable person....

Located on Colima and Hacienda in hacienda heights. Right across from a McDonalds, right before you head up the hill.

"he straight up they are all the same plastic junk" should have offered $100 if there junk. How do they stay in bussiness with that type of atitude?

the open sign is always there. he is open when he feels like it. his shop definetly takes getting used to. i think the only reason he is nice to certain people is if there regular customers. for me sometimes he's nice and sometimes he's a bit cranky that's probably why he dosen't have much business. on the times i've been in his shop and he's in a good mood he'll talk your ear off if u let him. he has some "intresting " stories. btw did u check out old west guns?

Makes me want to check Ling's out just for the fun of it...

+1 on renting out the guns you're interested in.
I know LA Guns is a little ghetto from time to time, but they have a good selection of guns for rental.

Ammo Bros is a nice little gunshop near your area. They don't have a lot of actual guns in stock, but if you know what you want, they can order it.

Funny I just took out my XD40 from my safe and cocked back the slide maybe five times (I love the sound and feel) and no problems at all.

No, .38super! I have heard of this shop but have never taken the time to find it. I wonder what he's asking for the HK P9? I have one of those honor guard SKS's. This shop seems to remind me of Euroarms. Or whats that Chinese shop on Atlantic,Firepower? I went there last year or 2 years ago, always closed, very small, a very old Chinese woman sleeping on a couch in front!

Good gun shop in Hacienda Heights as ShooterDave pointed out is Old West Guns between Valley and Hacienda in the same shopping center as Superior Market. I get all my little tidbits there when I'm in the LA area. Very friendly Mom and Pop shop with reasonable prices for a small shop.
