multiple gov agencies raid a temecula cnc shop today

I was informed this am that a local cnc shop was "visited" by swat, atf, etc w/ warrant in hand. The man in question was not taken into custody & released on site, but a truck load of items were taken from his shop.

Now I'm not going to name the shop or what he was or wasn't doing, but merely bringing awareness to those individuals doing or helping others machine or make items that either require a license or are in that grey area of the law, that even a little town like Temecula is being watched by big brother.

I bet they're trying to scare people into thinking it's illegal so they stop, or at least, slow down. Didn't something similar happen with SSE?

I don't think so. The width of dealers doing SSE has been steadily increasing all year.

No articles yet, possibly tomorrow. I'm not sure how anti 2a our local paper is. If there is something to sensationalize, I have no doubt. This happened in the early am today. I am not personally involved nor do business with this particular shop. Having been in this small town for the last 15 years & owning a machine shop, word travels quickly. My understanding is the warrant specified something other then 0-80% type stuff. Since I did not personally witness everything that transpired, nor saw the warrent, I would rather not state specifics until facts are known. Again the info I posted was an awareness piece, not finger pointing.

The BATF&E doesn't have to watch the towns, they just have to come onto websites like CalGuns where all these shops are freely posting the information for all the world to see.

All a BATF&E Agent has to do is type in a few key words in Google and they will have tones of shops to go after. If it isn't the shops themselves posting information it is the customers posting "these guys are great go to them for 80% lowers" that gets them noticed as well.

The reason that the BATF&E is being so aggressive is because since the school shooting last year when everyone went gun crazy the "80%" market took off like a firestorm. So all these guys with machine shops where like "Dang I can make a boat load of money off this stuff with no major retooling" and the greed took over as well as the "ahh they won't catch me I am just a small time shop" mentality.

What happened is one of the very prominant SSE shops made some bad business decisions and went under, leaving a bunch of folks in limbo without money or guns.

It was a huge mess, but it wasn't a raid.
