    thoughts on gift for Dad?

My dad isn't much of a gun guy. His only firearm right now is a stainless ruger 6" blackhawk single action. Hes no stranger to them though, one of my favorite pictures his him posing with a 50 cal ma deuce in the delta doing training as a reservist after he got out of the navy in the early 70's. Id like to get him something for christmas that may spark his desire to go shoot with me. Right now he just golfs and i find golf fun, but...its golf. He has talked about as a kid how much he enjoyed shooting rabbits with a 22lever gun riding horses through the orange groves of riverside, ca before it was what we see now.

What do you think? Just invite him to the range with the ruger or get him a lever action for christmas. If so, which one?? I want to get him something good this year anyways as he got me a great birthday present.

That would be fun. Neither of us have hunting licenses though think we could get them by christmas? Is there a rabbit season? I have no idea about hinting.

Get him a lever action in the same caliber as the Blackhawk along with some ammo. Then take him shooting.

            You have two simple choices.

            Garand or AR15

Simple. If he likes golf, he'll like "red neck golf" too. Get him a trap/skeet shotgun.

This looks better than any golf clubs yeah?

Henry, Marlin, Rossi, Winchester and others all make lever actions in 357.

I like the redneck golf idea to...

I should get him a .22 Winchester knowing full well he'll give it to his grand kids eventually guns from granddad are the best.

You would have to take hunter safety class which takes a day then go to a sporting good store and buy a license.

Match his Blackhawk up with a lever action, either a Henry or Rossi. The Rossi is a lot nicer looking old west gun, the henry is a better working gun.

The top gun is a Rossi 44 mag carbine and the bottom is a .357 rifle (24" oct barrel)

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Phase Plasma Rifle in 40 watt range. Maybe some Gargoyle Sunglasses as well.

How about a box of ammo and trip to the range.

If he was in the Navy in the 70's, gotta go 20" AR with A2 stock and a few hundred rounds of ammo. Expensive, I know, but how many dads you got?
