Anyone go last year? Is there stuff to buy too, or is it just a hands-on test drive kind of experience?

What should you bring? Just eye and hearing protection?

BTW, if you stop by at your local Turners they should have flyers with $2 off discount coupons.

    TIA

    WTS: Oakley SI Shoes

    WTS KAC rail panels

no guns or ammo for sale.

yes I went, it is AWESOME.

you don't have to bring your own eye and ear protection, as they have plenty to use, but I prefer my own. pelliculitis and all that.

Jerry would be my choice to watch too. I just got his trigger job DVD and it is very informative.

I want to get some of that amazing solder that
guy was selling last yr or maybe it was the yr
before. Takes very lil heat to use and seals
most anything. I've had a lot of fun. Don't
think the 50's will be allowed out there, but
if they are, and you can fire one, do so.

            They are a wicked weapon.

Dropped by this afternoon. Took me forever to fight my way east on the 60.

My first time... I didn't realize exactly how it would work. Had I known that I should prepare for the show the same way you might prepare for a bachelor party at a strip club, I would have brought a stack of one dollar bills. i.e., you go from table to table, and you pay them a couple bucks to put a few rounds through the gun of your choice.

                Some notes from the day...

The Firearms Training Associates area at the end of the line is a lot of fun. Steel plates, etc.

Have never shot a CZ before. Man, what people say about the ergonomics are true... they were great to shoot. Unfortunately, the 9mm CZ75 I initially shot kept having FTE. Also, my thumbs are on the short side and the safety was hard to reach for me.

Was surprised by how nice the SA XD was to shoot. I used an XD-9 for the FTA falling steel plates, and it was a real natural pointing gun and comfortable to shoot. I really liked it. On that stage, you got 6 rounds in the mag to down 6 plates. The best I could do was 5, I kept missing my first shot for some reason and then the next 5 came easy...

M1A Socom was a hoot to shoot. The M25 White Feather was cool too.

Shot clay with a Benelli M4, which felt a bit silly.

The Walther G22 rifle was fun, but being limited to 10 rounds in a 22LR plinker just ain't enough... I think I need to stick to 10/22 based rifles or the Rhineland R22 so I can use my stash of pre-Kali ban "normal cap" 10/22 mags.

The Tikka T3 was a real nice stick. Shot a Sako ultralight 30-06 which had a stout kick to it being only 6 or 7 lbs. Steyr Scout was pretty neat but not sure I'd drop the $$ for one.

Conclusion: Quite entertaining, but bring lots of dollar bills (and be prepared to push thoughts of how cheap the cases of ammo in your garage/basement/safe are out of your mind).

Note, there were a number of vendors there, so you can shop a bit too while you're there.

I went there on Sat. I brought my 6 1/2 yr old daughter. I had her try shoot 10/22 @ turners's women/youth booth. I thought she'd be little bit afraid to try out. But she had a blast & she wanted to go twice!!! If I did not get anything that day, it was still worth it!! I'm taking her to youth safari now.
