If it's an import with bad timing, it's probably worth about $10 for parts.

From the elaborate form of the trigger I would say it is a Smith & Wesson top break. The H&Rs and IJs had fairly flat trigger sides. They were economy guns all along. Smiths had that form of trigger.

These threads may be of interest to you:
I am looking for any information on the possible date of production of this gun and can I shoot it with modern ammo. I have posted the below details before. All of the data below contains the only markings on the gun. From previous post. Details are: Smith and Wesson Springfield Mass...

My relative's father died recently, and they inherited from him a S&W revolver that I had never seen before. It's a top break .32 S&W nickel plated revolver with, what seems to be, mother-of-pearl grips. It ejects the cartridges when you pull the barrel all the way down, the serial number...

This looks like an H&R. I had one (antique), which I sold. It was a well made gun, though you'd be wise to shoot black powder only.

They did make these well into the 20th century, later models should be (light) smokeless load safe.

I would stick to .32 S&W short in the older guns if they're okay with smokeless.

My Sister's gun isn't usable. Too much corrosion on the internals.

The OP's gun is in much better condition though, and he/she would be wise to follow your advice.

Looks like it's a Marlin Model 1887 top break then.
