Bought a 150 bulk pack tonight. Counted it out and 152 was in it. Feels like victory!

Unless you are lucky enough to find 22lr or are buying birdshot, Walmart's ammo has turned into a rip off. It seems like they have slowly raised the prices, but there is plenty of ammo out there now for less money (all but .22lr, that's still hard to get).

The Walmart employees are becoming more sticklers for the enforcement of the 3 box limit. It's no secret that Walmart has been cutting jobs and hours, so they don't want to get caught violating the store policies.

I buy Walmart ammo all the time. Just another opportunity to practice patience.
                Always check my receipt.
Have had friends buy additional boxes for me but always used cash or another card.
Follow the rules and no big deal.

I said, "What???". She said it is a federal law, third party... I told her that is WM's rule about 3 boxes per person, not federal. I said she is 18, she can buy whatever I ask her to. I was going to pay with my debit card, but the cashier refused.
I went to walmart yesterday and bought 6 boxes of 5.56. I had the wife with me to abide by the "3 boxes per person rule" but the guy just rang all 6 up in one transaction and let us pay for all 6 with one card.

Apparently I have broken the law... LOL

Went there yesterday and purchased 2 bulk packs of 12 & 20 Ga. shotgun shells. Clerk tells me he can't sell them to me; tells me I have to go through a background check first.

A couple of years back (before the current panic), myself and a rather wealthy shooting buddy were in Walmart in Valencia---he wanted to pick-up some 9mm practice ammo as we were going shooting the next day. He hands me his credit card and tells me he has to go take a leak---he wants two cases of 9 and get one for me too (!). Nice---I have a good stash of 9mm, but I'm not gonna turn down a free 1000rds. So the store clerk asks how many boxes I want---I say 60---he takes a long look at me, then grabs three cases of American Eagle 9mm and puts them in a shopping cart---done deal...
                        Ah, the good old days...

But I just thought it was funny stating federal law prevent purchase of more than 3 boxes per person.

Rules are rules, but don't make up non existant laws, trying to justify whatever.
Sounds like you did have a problem with their limit, because you blatantly tried to end-run it.
