It is never a cheap collection/sport/hobby. You just have to make the appropriate adjustments to afford the habit. I am right there with you. It is never cheap but it was a little more affordable a year ago.

I took up trap shooting to offset the cost of handgun and rifle ammo. It is cheaper for me to compete in trap matches than to compete in a 3-gun match. Plus, it beats shooting paper.

Ive looked online and seen pawn shops sell guns for pretty cheap sometimes.. I saw S&W 9mm for like 200 bucks in decent condition.. Any good recommendations on pawn shops not too far out from LA?

Mossberg 500. Inexpensive. Versatile. You should have one.

                there are options out there

mossberg 500 for around $300 or maverick 88 around $200 on sale

you could buy a stripped lower or two, cheap enough at around $100 each and ensures you'll be able to build an ar later on

you could get a nice .22 to save on ammo spending if you dont already have one, i got my ruger mkiii for around $300, theres some nice .22 rifles out there for $300 or less

ruger p series 9mm's can be had for around $300 used

surplus pistols like cz 82, makarov, tokarev, p64 etc. can be cheap as well

I would prioritize on guns you cant get if these laws pass. SSE pistols and semi-auto rifles

Sometimes more guns is cheaper than less. One example is using my 9mm which is lower cost than my .45. Or my .22 over my ar-15.

I still love them all and shoot them all but using cheaper ammo sometimes is just what I need to get through this panic buy pricing.

I recently picked up an Ak-74 (versus the AK-47) because I could get over 1000 rounds of 5.45 for around $180.

Could NEVER do that with my AR. At this point, I keep my AR for posterity. It is rarely shot.
