I must have forgot because I don't remember having fingerprints taken for a RAW.

I don't know about the 89 registration period, but you did have to submit a fingerprint during the 2000 registration period,

but I didn't have to pay to have them done. Self-printing worked just fine.

Even though it's a long gun,if it was registered as an AW it might show.. worth a try ?

^This. They will show if the paperwork was processed. I had to do a AFS request to make sure mine were registered. The jacknuts never sent me the confirmation that they processed my form. They were in fact listed on the AFS request.

An associate has told me that he possesses an Arsenal SLR-95 AK, which is banned by name. He gave me a timeframe in which he purchased it (93-94) but is not sure whether he had registered it or not as he has traveled throughout the country on military orders.

1. how can he find out if he had infact registered it as an AW?

2. If possible, how can he register it as an AW...or has that timeframe been missed?

Reference 2. He is screwed if it is banned by name and didn't register with the PROC. If they are banned by name he could convert it to a single shot and this ridiculous state would still consider it an unreg AW. If not banned by name someone could just change the characteristics (ie add a BB) and make it PROC legal. Well at least until Brown signs 374.

oh the funny thing is most of them are technically "slr-95mb" due to the shark gill brake they have
but are only stamped slr-95
