    Gun Shows in Virginia

    Hello,

I travel a lot for work and have been in Virginia the past few weeks and attended a couple gun shows here on my free time. There is no comparison between the shows here and those in SoCal. Plenty of everything from antique black powder to any AR you could want. While 22lr is still scares 223 is plentiful at 9$ a box. I have not bought anything substantial except a few MagPul 10 round magazines for $13 and a 9 round magazine for my LC9 at 37$. Oh, and the parking is FREE!

    Cheers,
    W-W

Did you happen to remember to pick me up that AR?

I like the one in Richmond, but the Chantilly show near Dulles Airport is bigger. The prices at the Dulles show are higher, though. I have heard the show in Fredericksburg is a good show that's not as crowded and has good prices, but I haven't been to that one yet.

Been to ones in Fredericksburg and Richmond. Both were nice, well stocked and crowded. What I did notice is that the average price of a Glock or a Beretta or any-other handgun was 10-15% HIGHER than it was here in SoCal.

Presumably there is higher demand to go along with the stock and merchandise was moving swell despite the prices.

Frankly, it didn't occur to me to take any photos. I was to busy trying to figure out how much I could fit in my checked bag before the airline told me "no"....

The show at the raceway in Richmond has been the best to date, 8$ to get in and free parking! Lots of old hands selling gun related odds and ends which I enjoy digging through.

When I was there it seemed like they were really into shotguns and Single Action Armies.

When was that? In the last show in Richmond at the end of August, there were more variants of AR's and AK's than you would see in CA. There were also M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, a few HK's, one FN F2000, but no FAL. For pistols, there were a lot of Glocks, M&P's, Rugers, Bersa .380s, Taurus, and a few Remington 1911's. I didn't see any STI's or Para's. There was very little jerky available, though.
