Im guilty of this, and i wonder why i hear from a lot of guys that work at FFL dealers , when i tell them i like the way it looks they s****** and wise crack that hey, they buy a gun based on how it works in a defensive situation, i.e. defending them selfs, thats fine, it is after all a guns main purpose, but if thats the case why do all these FFL workers/dealers have more than one gun and one make. i wish they would just cough up to the fact that they to buy guns from an asthetic appeal sense, just as much as a defensive reason. sure i want the gun to be able to perform either at the range or in the field, as good as it wood in a dangerouse life threatening situation, but if it does not have a certain appeal then i will look at something else and am not afraid to admitt it. i just wish they would to. if we all thought like what they preach to me we would all just surley own glocks.

Looks has a lot to do with my gun purchases. I want them to look kool and also perform well. If a gun looks really kool but has a bad reputation for performing well, I will not buy it until I can give it a try for myself.. Does that make sense?Originally posted by tankermanI think most folks bubba their AR's because they watch too many action movies, play too many video games and don't understand how to socialize properly, so they fantasize about being 'action hero's'. Kind of like little girls playing dress-up.Originally posted by Douglas711Is everybody stocking up on guys now? Just curious some gun prices seem to be getting high.Comment

Sometimes looks matter but not all the time. Otherwise I never would have bought a glock or a tikka.Last edited by chickenfried; 06-22-2008, 11:38 AM.sigpicOriginally posted by victor1echoHollywood is satan!!!!Comment

Meh. I duracoated my pistol simply because I didn't like the factory park and preferred a 2 tone look.
To women and gunpowder!
Live by one, die by the other.
But I love the smell of both....

Not sure what you meant by that...
I think my glock27 is beautiful and she gets the job done. I never thought of entering her in a beauty contest but I agree if you can get the same results why not look good doin' it!Im guilty of this, and i wonder why i hear from a lot of guys that work at FFL dealers , when i tell them i like the way it looks they s****** and wise crack that hey, they buy a gun based on how it works in a defensive situation, i.e. defending them selfs, thats fine, it is after all a guns main purpose, but if thats the case why do all these FFL workers/dealers have more than one gun and one make. i wish they would just cough up to the fact that they to buy guns from an asthetic appeal sense, just as much as a defensive reason. sure i want the gun to be able to perform either at the range or in the field, as good as it wood in a dangerouse life threatening situation, but if it does not have a certain appeal then i will look at something else and am not afraid to admitt it. i just wish they would to. if we all thought like what they preach to me we would all just surley own glocks.
