Yes there might be a great lawsuit that overturns all this, but I want to own firearms in MY lifetime.
I never said that it was so that I could get what I need.. I already got everything I need.. the only thing I bought recently was an M1a.. I ve plenty of mags, ARs, AKs...etc

All I m saying is it would be best if people where aware and actively trying to do something about it..... BUT if they re not going to do anything about it and arent taking the time to become aware, I d rather they get that "shock" factor and maybe there stands a chance of the laws being reversed...just saying if people had a full year to get everything they want.. then they re less likely to put in the effort to try to get things reversed later..I dont know if what I m trying to say makes sense.

Talking to some of the guys at the LGS... they are required to keep physical copies of all DROS paperwork done at all times... and if asked by the state to turn it over.. they would be inclined to do so.

Yes, and on January 1 any long guns purchased in California - including C&R rifles and shotguns - will require registration the same as a pistol. And as we know, "Registration" is the pimping little Marxist sister that stands at the door and holds the pants of "Confiscation" as it rapes Liberty.

With that in mind, one would expect more people to be purchasing clean, friendly, cash and carry, no paper work, private party C&R long guns, or at least getting "DROS'ed but not "REGISTERED" long guns.

But all I hear are crickets.

i would buy if i can spare the cash.

but i'm getting a new vehicle so all spare money goes to that first.

if it comes down to it, where i can't get anymore rifles. then i'll just have to settle for only getting handguns.

I think you mean Bono, yeah? Truly epic song from an album fittingly entitled War.

I'd speculate that stripped lowers will become both scarce and pricey if JB doesn't do what he knows in his heart is right on 10/14. Given our numbers and relative affluence here in CA, I'd even go so far as to predict a short-term national shortage of anything about to be banned from future purchases on 1/1/14 in this wondrous state of ours.

some of us started getting prepared for this late last year and early this year. We bought 80's, ammo and uppers and new rifles and we still are buying in preparation.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

                    Exactly,

Having just witnessed gunshows where lines wrapped around the parking lot 3 times, the unprepared waiting hours for .223 at four times the price and fighting over the last box of Colibri .22s.

Then when i went to the voting poll in election day, it was deserted.

Ignorance and Apathy is the bane of gun owners in Ca

That is what I have been telling my friends that are on the fence or are not really paying attention. Hey, at worst you will have a new rifle.

                        2) Most people may not be well informed about all of this taking place
                        3) People think they have enough time between Oct 14 - Dec 31 to decide what to get
                        4) People spent a lot of $$$ already this past year after the last panic, and don't want to spend more or don't need to spend more
                        5) Going along with #4, they want to save up money for the holidays to use towards other things

Just my thoughts on it. For me, I have what I need and I'm more on working with SSE handguns before that bills passes.
Out of all these ideas flying around I can really only think of this one ^, I'm surprised it took this long for someone to mention it.

Right now it's a buyers market because of all those that paid 1300 for their M&P sport and now can get 900 for it. People are panicked out and don't feel the need to race out there in panic.

I talked with a local gun shop and he said if anything it's slowed down....ammo is now sitting on shelves now that used to fly off as soon as they put it in their system for double the price.

Also, there's a lot of people who say "no one has a clue about the laws" I can't think of a gun guy I see that isn't talking about the laws. I've got my 84yr old grandpa spewing the laws and getting people to call and he says even the old folk know about it. If they don't know inform them.
                        SO MANY GUNS....never enough money
