    Any Marines in the house?

I saw this post on ar15.com and didn't know if possibly any Marines might be able to help this fellow out: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=11&t=312735

Basically he would like some help for his wedding this Sunday, he needs some Marines to do the sword tent thingie at Disneyland.

I know it's short notice but I figured if it's possible Calgunner's are the most helpful bunch of folks I've ever encounterred on the net.

actually a decorated combat veteran who did plenty of time in the USMC before I was medically separated due to injuries I received in Fallujah.

Now a private security contractor doing jobs for the Army that they didn't / wont do.

That sounds kinda stupid if you ask me....

                    Government:
Even though we own your anus for the next two years we feel that you are too injured to be useful to us in the future so we've decided to absolve you of your contractual obligation, pay you disability benefits, and send you home so that you can be hired by a contractor, shipped back to us, and billed out at 150 times what we were paying you before.

No fault on your case of course... just foolish of the government. I imagine it is for the press. Lose an American in a GI uniform and the media poops it's pants. Lose a contractor and its no big deal because he has the option to come home whenever he wants to.

Ihear you, I actually wanted to do my 20 and get out but after they gave me the options of
-Retrain to a different MOS and be in a non-combat unit
-Stay in my current MOS & duty station but not reenlist
-Cut my losses and get out early to pursue another career

I chose to get out. Didnt want to be a POG and why should I stay in and be non-deployable and not be able to reenlist? They (navy medical) wouldnt do any kind of treatments outside of their little matrix or whatever they have for back injuries even though I had civilian doctors saying I needed it.

I got out, went to the VA who approved the treatment and hooked it up and now I am back here doing a more enjoyable job with more freedoms but I do miss the camaraderie and brotherhood that the service has to offer.

As much as I love to crack on other services I do like and respect them all for the most part, as I am sure they do the same with the Marine Corps even though they talk trash on us because we are better than them.

Im actually considering pulling a BSF and going into the Army reserves, although the communication with their recruiter hasnt been working out for me but I have another POC comin in from the SF side of the house out here.
