Incorrect. MAC addresses stay the same for devices that have them. IP addresses are unique to you, your location, and your ISP.

INCORRECT -- While a MAC always remains the same (unless you know how to spoof), there are two types of IP addresses:

Static IP- (always the same #, mostly used for businesses, but some ISPs assign static addresses to residential customers)

Dynamic IP- (Change at a certain intervals determined by your ISP)

For the sake of this argument, we're talking about an idiot who said he bought a computer from a guy and claimed the IP address was that of a Calgunner who was banned before, but the buyer is now at a completely different location. Having that exact same IP address is just not going to happen unless you have some good knowledge on how to cover your tracks, or are a big fat liar like the OP is.

I agree. While MAC addresses as well as IP's can be spoofed, I highly doubt the OP has the skill set and intelligence to pull it off.
