hate saying it, but with 300+ million people in america, im surprised this doesn't happen more often.

unfortunately i do not think there is a real solution to this short of the thought police. same principle as to why a gun ban would never work - the intention to do harm/violence, to others or yourself, will still be there and can be achieved via other means if guns are not available. having a partner may reduce the risk but isn't going to prevent anything if they are just really determined.

As the other guys said. The buddy system is to prevent suicides with range guns. People are far less likely to kill themselves next to their friends and family.

I worked at a local range for three years and it's not cool, when someone decides to kill themselves in front of 30 other people. It's messy and traumatic for the people who see it.

A place in Milpitas has had suicides twice. Even with that law.

I don't think they should rent to Democrats either - a couple of those vicious criminal lunatics might rent a gun and start shooting people, due to their insane hatred of gun owners and the 2nd Amendment, and as a "false flag" tactic to get more ridiculous and unconstitutional gun control laws passed.

Yea, I'd be willing to be that 95% of the people who ask to rent a gun alone are stable, well adjusted people. That being said, it only takes one person to ruin everyone's day.

This is only the case in California BTW. I've never seen a range in a free state that requires a second person to rent.

                Strange, don't you think?

I went into Firing Line alone and no gun some years back. They said if I became a member I could shoot that same day, alone with their guns. I asked why and got the suicide story. Money talks!

those ranges that implement this rule are probably required to do so by their insurance company as a set forth by the policy signed to receive coverage
