    Redundancy in your collection?

I have always been a stickler for having multiple firearms in the same chambering, multiples of the same pattern, etc. Today I just got this random thought that I have way more guns than I "need" and I got a weird hankering to get rid of a bunch of stuff.

Am I crazy for thinking this? Opinions on either side of the fence?

Get yourself checked out by a doctor, that is not healthy at all.

I am concerned. Is this a case of Stockholm Syndrome, after being held captive by this state for so long?

Get yourself checked out right away! You could be coming down with left-itis. A rare but dangerous condition which puts you at risk of becoming a socialist!

Seriously, if you sell anything, I think you will regret it later. On the othe hand were you to donate something to another calgunner, like oh, me, it would give you years of pleasure knowing that you are a generally nice guy who is giving and caring.

            Sorry, not sorry.

Redundancy? Certainly. Even multiples of the exact same gun. Then again I have redundancy in my motorcycle gear, snowboard gear, camera gear, camping gear, etc. There are things that are the same or very close however they have proven themselves by fitting my needs and expectations for performance, form and function, and as such have a higher value for me than what I paid.

i realized i had a problem when i had 7 1911's stacked on top of each other.

                  10mm
                  9mm
                  38 super
                  45 x 4

got rid of the 9mm and one of the 45's now i want another.

also realized i had a problem when i was stacked 8 deep on AR lowers.

                      lol this.

I don't like buying multiple guns in the same caliber.

I don't know...I always go back and forth between consolidation and diversification, so I don't really have a good answer.

                          Only 7 x 1911's?

I had 13 Mosin 91/30 and 6 M44 mosins. Then there was the extra japs/Enfields/mausers and the 8 M1Garands. Sold all but 1 mosin 91/30 sniper and 3 M1Garands as well as one each of the others.

Missed having the safes buldging but sure enjoyed the Africa trip they helped pay for.

redundancy is the spice of life, when the first one is good enough to bring on the second one and the third. it's mediocrity that's boring.
