    Cant open the safe..................

    Got up this morning. Went to put my handgun back into the safe for the day and the dam thing would not open. I tried it about 6 times with no luck. Ended up dropping off the handgun at a friends before I headed off to work. This should be fun.

        Touch pad or good old mechanical dial? Maybe you need batteries or need to plug it in if it's touch pad. If it's the dial type, you're right, should be fun.

              Give it a couple taps with a hammer everytime you land on the number you want.. make sure those pins fall in.

                      I thought I saw a member on here who works on safe cracking, or maybe a different forum.

                        A friend of mine once got locked out of his safe and he used his AAA Auto Club card. They came by and replaced the lock as if it were a tow or locked-out-of-car call.

                        Also good for $500 bail bond value IIRC.

                          Call professionals.

                          Few questions;

                          How old is locking mechanism? When was it serviced last?

                          Maybe we should buy back up safes for times like this.
                          'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

                            There is a member here who specializes in safes and safe entry. He made a bunch of posts about 6 months ago; I am sure hes still around here somewhere.

                              I shoot with a guy who works as a locksmith, and who also does the occasional safe job. He said every make and model is different. He keeps detailed notes on the construction and locking mechanisms of all the major brands. Some you drill here, some you drill there. Sounds like fun work.

                              If you're in central/coastal CA, I can get you his contact info.
