    Good choice, I like my Mossberg and it always goes bang. Just take things slow and easy, never be in a rush on the range, and THINK.

      it was high school JROTC
      we only shot them when we went to a base and they took us to the range. Otherwise we shot pellet guns on the football field.

      but we did have m14's that were fixed so they couldnt be used to shoot. we used those to learn how to take them apart and to drill etc...plus i have gone to the range to rent the m1a they hada few times.

      ill be sure to learn all the safety tips and other things you guys have on here to make sure i use my first personal rifle correctly. keep em comin if you have more tips
