Did I get ripped off? Resolved

Does anyone know how many magazines should come with a Sig GSR revolution 1911 stainless? I just picked one up today from Turners, and when I looked in the box there was only 1 magazine. I asked the clerk about it, he didn't really seem to know, then I asked another sales guy how many magazines came with it, without hesitation he said 2. When the other clerk informed him there was only 1, he quickly changed his mind and said the 1911's only come with 1.

Kinda got similar BS from the other employees, up until I opened the owners manual and it specifically listed 2 magazines in the package. Of course they made up some excuses about the factory not shipping the magazines or some other BS, and quickly grabbed some crappy mccormick mag to give me. I'm not kidding when I say it's crap, the first time they tried to load it, it wouldn't go in because the follower was coming out of the mag. I complained that there should be a factory Sig mag in there, but they basically just told me to take it up with Sig. This is after waiting for about an hour for a pickup, I finally got fed up and left.

So is there a site that specifically states the number of magazines that come with each purchase, or does it vary among different stores? I see auctions on gunbroker and gunsamerica for NIB sigs with 2 mags, but I can't seem to find anything on the Sig website that states that.

Just call up Sig directly and ask. If it's true the store took a mag, Sig should come down on those thieves.

You were not treated with honesty. I looked at the Sig 1911's on the RSR site. All of them come with 2 mag's.

      all the best,

I'd go back and tell them they have 24 hours to produce said missing magazine before you call their corporate offices and demand they all be fired for theft.

Once they give you the magazine (because it WILL turn up), I'd call anyways and demand they all be fired for theft. .

I just sent an e-mail to Sig, hopefully I'll hear back in the morning.

It gets even better, I think the one mag that I thought was original might not be. Now that I'm inspecting it a little closer, the mag that came with the gun has no stamping or identification with the Sig name on it, and doesn't look like the ones on the Sig website. I'm definitely going to talk to someone about this.

I would speak with the manager of that Turners and give him a chance to rectify the situation. It is possible, if some dishonesty was in fact done, that he is not aware of it. Now, if he doesn't do what's right, then a call to corporate would be indicated.

Just out of curiosity, which Turner's is it.

It will be a much bigger deal if Sig helps you deal with the problem, companies don't put up with people misrepresenting their product line.

If the manual says it comes with 2 and there is only 1, thats THEIR problem, not yours. You should not have accepted the gun with only one mag. you should have told them you were NOT going to accept delivery with only one mag, and if sig forgot to put the second one in, they need to take it up with sig, not you.

That would be true if the weapon came from Sig with only one magazine but the OP is concerned that it DID come with two and that one (or both) magazines were stolen by Turner's employees.

And that was exactly my point, that if they were trying to pawn it off like "oh..sig must have forgot to put it in there" then thats their problem, not the buyers. Whatever happened with the mag (employee stole it, sig forgot it, someone misplaced it) whatever,... they need to rectify the problem, not give the buyer some lip service and try to shift the problem to him to find the solution.

I will be contacting Sig tomorrow morning on both issues

                      1) I want to know how many mags come with the gun. I'm pretty sure it's 2, because on the websites I've seen they come with 2

                      2) I asked for a picture of the factory Sig magazine. I suspect the other magazine (the one I thought was original) might also be aftermarket. It doesn't look like the pictures I see, and there are no markings or anything on it. I would assume Sig would probably put their name on it somewhere.

I want to verify my facts with Sig first, before I go to the manager at Turners. I think I may have dealt with him before, and if it's the same guy I think he is then I don't really expect a whole lot of help. If that doesn't get anywhere I'll have to deal with corporate.

By the way, it was Pasadena turners. Another point I forgot to mention was the security seal was broken before i recieved the gun. I don't know if that's standard practice for stores to open the merchandise before a customer comes to pick it up, this is the first time I even remember seeing a safety seal on the storage case.

Dealer has to break the seal and open the box to verify the serial number for his book.

The GSR's come with 2 mags.

I have seen SIG brand 1911 mags that are not marked. They are 8rd and have a plastic bump pad, look very similar to chip power mags. Others are novak mags.

The seal on the case is more for sig to project an image and status. Same with the band around the grip, not necessary and just for show. The cases must be opened to verify the contents and serial number.

Go get your mag back, if they cant find it then make sure you get at least a novak branded mag as replacement. If they can get sig handguns they can order you another magazine.
