                      I remember someone here on Calguns posting about his M1 that was similarly converted to .308 by a gun smith. Apparently, this is commercially available, but expensive.

                        That stock is worth some money, probably half the value of the rifle.

                            I seem to recall a few years back that SA itself was offering Garands in .308 with a box mag conversion. Not that many years, either - like, literally, just a few.
