30-30 is not a better round. It's expensive.

30-30 is easier to find a components for and there is a wider variety of components to be had. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and guess that it is cheaper to reload 30-30 than to reload 7.62x39. When it comes to factory ammo prices, the two cost about the same for the same quality of ammo. There is a lot of lesser quality and cheaper 7.62x39 on the market though.

It's not always about cost. Sometimes it's about having bragging rights to something unique and different.

I still think it's a cool concept.

Personally I would love to have a Ruger 77/357 chambered for 30 carbine. I just like the 30 carb round, and with soft point ammo it's a decent little performer. It'd be even cooler if it were altered to accept M1 Carbine magazines. Sort of like a Mossberg MVP in concept. I'd love to have an AR-15 chamberd in .30 carbine too, and altered to accept M1 Carbine mags as well. Would it be cheap? Would it do anything "better" than other guns? Nope. It would just be unique and a real conversation starter.

I know it's not a lever which are cool I have a rossi m92 in .357 but these are real attractive to me as well and it's 7.62x39 which you have a lot of right?

There are 303 Enfield to 7.62x39 conversions out there. I'm thinking of doing this due to the price of ammo for the Enfield.

Hornady makes a soft tip bullet for tube magazines. So with some custom work it can happen.

But it will be cheaper to buy a .357 R92
