    Life without semi-automatic firearms

Heaven forbid that they ever manage to muster this through any legistlative body at the state or federal level in the US; what would life be like after the ban on the sale or transfer of all semi-automatic firearms with exceptions for LEOs and the Military?

Muster it through? I believe we are only a year or two away from attempts at this type of legislation.

what would life be like - for me no change as all my semi auto long guns are stored at my parents out of state; for most people I guess they would have to learn to make the first shot count rather than spray and pray.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

That won't help you if they manage to pass it at the federal level...

Well the proper response that I should have given was that I do not own any such firearms that are Semiautomatic. They were stolen just before the ban came down.. Uh hu....

The bottom line is that if this thing became Federal Law we would be SOL. Will it happened? I really, really Really don't think so.

I doubt seriously we'll ever see it at the Federal level and if we do they'll surely have a provision for registration just as Cal did in 2000. I can't fathom absolute seizure at the Federal level.

I'd practice more with my revolvers, they can be as fast as a semi-auto

                      where are my pistol mags?

My guess is you'd see alot of modified "straight pull" action rifles such as the Mini 14, AR 15, M1A and such. Disabled or nonexistant gas sytems. Pull the trigger, pull the bolt and repeat until your mag is empty.

I'd probably start caring (more) about revolvers.

Since you asked the question, I'll tell you. You and many others would just have to learn to shoot. I've witnessed a world record being set with a 50BMG shell holder action where the shooter shot a five shot 2.608" group at 1000 yards in less than 38 seconds. Not bad considering he had to completely remove the bolt from the action between each shot. Yea, he could probably shot his rifle faster but, then he probably would have shot a 3" or 4" group. Learn to shoot and you won't feel that need for a semi auto. Of course, it's OK to want one...........or two..........or twenty...........or more.

                              NEVER!!!

If such a ban ever comes to pass, you'll be able to recognize me at the range. I'll be the guy with the black cowboy hat and crossed bandoliers, shooting my 30-30 levergun from the hip & randomly spraying rounds downrange as fast I can cycle the action.
