I need some advice in choosing a 1911. I'm thinking of two models kimber custom 2 or Springfield armory loaded model any advice would be appreciated. Any advice on other models would be good too. Thanks

Advice? Do you mean "choosing" or "shooting"?

I'd take the Springer loaded esp. the one with NM serial.

I have a Sig Nitron Rail, and it has been great right out of the box. The only complaint is that it doesn't like standard 1911 mags, only factory Sig mags which is a pretty major knock. Other than that no problems.

Springfield... I kinda dislike Kimbers a lot. They suck.

The SA loaded is a good value.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't those two guns in greatly different price ranges?

Both companies make fine guns. I think that Springfield has a much longer, storied history and know for a fact that their customer service is excellent. Kimber makes a reliable product and I have heard those service is good too.

So the questions really are, which one appeals most to your eye aesthetically, and feels the best in your hand. Answer those questions and you will have your answer.

I have experience with both Springfield and Kimber. Both are good reliable products. If one needs a particular feature, just buy it.

So, whichever one looks cooler to you is the one you should buy. Whichever you choose you will not be disappointed.
