Rossi 357 16" rifle. Why? Because it will put a smile on a shooters face Don't forget the whole common ammo with a sidearm either.

Practical to me is a 357. ARs are expensive to buy or build, and .223 ammo is almost twice as much as 357 and you can shoot even cheaper 38s. I've also found that with a semiauto I burn through ammo way faster than I need to.

If you reload with lead bullets you can make really cheap ammo, and make "cat sneeze" loads or even use factory 38 wadcutters or cowboy loads that are pretty much silent or much quieter without any suppressor.

Consider a single shot break action 357 like an H&R. Not very sexy or cool, but fun, cheaper than lever action, and definitely practical. For $600 you can get that and a reloading setup.

Why would you let others decide what YOU should buy?
If you cannot decide then just wait untill you can make up your own mind. That is if you are capable of doing so.
I would never allow others to dictate what I buy. Stand up and think for yourself.
If you have children and cannot decide then do something for/with them with the money , or just sit on it until you do.

OK others you can flame on

Rossi 92 in 357 is the most practical - Can use indoors, cheap ammo that's sharable with a handgun, and very satisfying to shoot.

No mags, BB, or crap, er, accessories to ponder over.

Or a handful of lowers that you can build at your own pace.
