it's billet machined. billet is usually more expensive.

As for ATF designation letter we are using current standards in existing 80% lowers that are 95% complete. ATF clearly states that as long as no machining is completed in the fire control recess area even if all other maching is completed it is not considered a firearm.

Our 80 lowers are not considered a firearm and do not require an FFL.

Hmm...I thought the letters of determination are manufacturer specific. At least the ones I have are specific to the lower and manufacturer.

If they do not need to be specific (just follow current standards and guidelines) then why do many manufacturers apply/request individual letters?
