I had a great time. Here are a few thing that I thought would make the weekend a little more enjoyable for me.

    1. Move the firing line a bit closer to the campsites. There's plenty of room and we're all adults so I don't believe safety would be an issue.

    2. Bill was great in charge of the range, but it seemed that he sometimes forgot about the line during cease fires. Some of us often found ourselves having to wait over an hour for a 30 min hydration break to end. We came to shoot, not to stand around scratching our heads. One suggestion would be to have multiple RSO's run shifts watching the line, FROM the line with something audible to everyone like a horn. A nice canopy or umbrella place at the center would be a good RSO station. This would avoid confusion about whether the line is hot or not since the RSO would be right there and easily found.

    3. +2.56x10^42 on the drive-by

    4. Make a more organized way for people to shot the toys. Numbers, color coding, time blocks, something.

Again, I had tons of fun and only wished I could've talked or hung out more around the fire. I just had too much stuff to work on for school in my car after the nightly cease fire. The number of people attending was perfect in my opinion. I think less people would leave too many sitting at home who want to attend a once-a-year event. Everyone should thank Bill and definitely put him on their Christmas list for his hard work on putting everything together and working hard to make sure we all have good, safe time. I hope to make it out next year.

That being said it isn't like i'm not coming for the next one, and my wife loved it too!
anyone like to roam for a few weeks wanna find a place closer to the middle of central california or closer not far from vegas? It is tough to beat Stormfeather's perfect spot away from it all and safe though.
not in California.....our guns would remain nurtured and no full auto.

the weekend went great.the only thing i think of is having the closer to the firing line.maybe have all the cars back behind then the tents 15 or 20 feet away the firing line.
with as many people that went it was awesome we could all be adults and be responsible for everybody and no body getting hurt.
i was a little worried about that many people going that i did not personally know and trust them with my life, but know i know i can

north to the town of battle mt, south to tonopah,
not part of the vegas area so it should be good. find a area close sorta to tonopha???

there is a supply base at tonopha, and tribal land north of the lake.
told there is edable fish living there.

will advise what i find out.

also this area is also in the sticks...but so goes most of nevada. some 65% of the state is blm land.

                  who voted #1?

if you've got a problem with how things went down you should state it so next year is better.

The person who voted 1 out of 10 was user "LEO." I don't think that person was even at the shoot.

i've been searching east of central cali...right into nevada...and there is not much out there. so that is cool. but most of the area east of the 95 freeway is Nellis Air force Range....i doubt that is a good thing, at least for our purposes.

i would love to know where there is something that won't take me 11-12 hrs to get to. 4-6 is totally fine. maybe even push 7-8 hours. but at that point, i could drive to utah as well!

for TK or The Foxtrot, check out an area halfway between the NV/CA border and the 95 freeway @ 6-10miles West, SW of a small city called Springdale and also Bonnie Claire

I think one issue about camping closer to the firing line is the sound issue. Having to sleep with ear protection because of the 7am shooting/tannerite going off would suck. Not being able to hold a conversation because of the sound of full auto a few feet away would suck too.

I think the reason we were so scattered this time is due in part to the fact that Bill was not there when most people were setting up camp (he was with me and a few others pulling vehicles out of the loose spots). I think he had intended for everyone to park in a uniform line to create a windbreak and get the group closer together.
Yes, the idea was to make a solid line of vehicles close to the firing line and centralize the firing line. But as I was pulling out vehicles with OhSmily for a hour and a half, folks decided to go ahead and set up camp anyways. It all worked out, but I would have preferred to have everyone alot closer to each other.

Yes, but take into consideration, this was the first time I had this many people who DIDNT know each other out there at the same time. I decided to err on the side of caution than throw caution to the wind.

No, I didnt forget the time, but I know alot of people needed to hydrate out there and sometimes they had to be reminded. As it was so hot, some folks took refuge under the shade canopys to get away from the heat, but those that hydrated were always chomping on the bit to get back on the firing line at 28:59 after I called the hydration cease fire. I take it you was one of the properly hydrated guys!

I voted #9, because there was hiccups, and I tried to make sure that everything ran smoothly. Vehicles getting stuck, things like that threw off our time frame and affected my getting to camp first because I wanted to help pull them out, then I wasnt there to direct traffic which affected how camp was set up and so on and so on, it was a domino affect from there, I tried to make split decisions based on a skewed schedule after that, and things got altered from the original plan. I hope everyone had fun though, and I will be talking to Dan and Andrew, working on making suggestions to make sure that everything moves smoothly next time.
