If your otters is an Alum 3 piece rod you are not doing your barrel any favors. There was an article awhile back in rifle mag about this and they cut barrels apart and showed the way the old 3 piece rods would ruin the middle area of the barrel.
But then it is your firearms and you are welcome to just use whatever you like.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

The problem with the Tipton rods is they snap when using a tight patch and run carbon fibre through your arm and hand requiring hours of medical attention to remove.
The Dewey has been around a while and I have 2 you can buy very cheap. They don't have the screwball adapters on any of them because they always unscrew and fall off and nobody local carries them.Sinclair's sells a tool just for tightening the adapter and I'll sell you that as well.It doesn't work but atleast you'll have it when you lose your next adapter and you will.
BoreTech rods are very good but they do wear out. They are offered in a large range of lengths so you don't smash your knuckles into the stocks comb while cleaning long barrels.
Bore Tech is the industry's number one source for USA-made premium & technologically advanced gun maintenance supplies and cleaning kits. Shop our selection of gun cleaner supplies, tools, & more. Ivey Rods are also very good-- http://www.ivyrods.com/CleaningRODS.htm
Pretty soon someone will post about the coatings falling off there XXX brand rods.I can tell you from lots and lots of experience that the coatings fall off all brands of rods and I have owned or still own most of those brands.

P.S. I have 2 Dewey adapters that don't fit my rods I'll throw in on the deal.Last edited by LynnJr; 06-03-2013, 9:58 PM.Lynn Dragoman, Jr.

The Dewey adapters are not a problem if you look at the end of the rod when changing patches etc. Just tighten them up or locktite them to start with. I have a couple of extra ones I bought by mistake if you are needing.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

Boretech, never had a problem, ball bearing handle and as posted many sizes, coated rods...
Bore snakes are a field use thing in my opinion and ain't that great. A one piece rod is way better, get a bore guide also to save your throat.50 BMG Shooters http://50-bmg.com/forum/index.phpComment
