I keep all of my ammo in the garage in surplus ammo boxes. Do you think it's any safer in a fire?

I'll fight the urge to respond as friends above did, and assume you meant '.. in case of a fire.' So, yes, probably a little, but live ammunition in a fire is not a great hazard. If they heat up enough they might light off one or two at a time, and since the casing is so much lighter than the bullet it's the casing that would take off and the bullet would hardly move. If they're in metal ammo cans, my bet is you might get a bunch of dents in the sides and that's about it.Comment

With that being said, it's probably safer in the garage than it is in your living room or bedroom.Comment
