I have know idea , that's why I used the term ( for what ever reason ) .I used cops but a better term may have been any state authority figure . The question was not to invoke another question . lets just say they know FOR WHAT EVER REASON .How would the cops know who's gun it is?
I thought to transfer any firearm between father and son there is one small piece of paper work and a $19 charge . I forget what the paper is called . Is this not correct .EDIT: found it , sorry only apply's to handguns .

Well this seems like a cluster---- waiting to happen . This makes it seem like who ever has the gun at the time just says we transfered it back it 2012 and the next time the other says the same thing .Long guns need no paper
27870 (was 12078(c)(1)) means long gun transfers between California-resident family members (grandparents/parents/children) are paperless. I love the whole if you keep your mouth shut you can get away with anything mentality that seems to be a big part of this board .
