    Panicking Walmart ammo buyers

I went to buy some 22 ammo this morning so my kids could join me in the desert this coming weekend for plinkin' fun.
I got there right when they opened the doors and five guys were hanging out by the front.
I walked in with other customers and headed to the ammo.
When I got there the same five guys were there staring at the ammo case talking about how empty it was.
I looked up on the top shelf and there were 7 or 8 boxes of 50cnt 22lr for $2.17 a box tucked in the back.
The guys kept talking and I walked over to the clerk and asked her to open the case.
Just then, one of the guys says "your fifth in line". I look at him and tell him I was waiting for the others but everyone was just standing around talking about what they needed and how it wasn't there.
He said "you're still fifth in line".

I told him to have at it and walked.

The panic mentality lives, even if prices are going down.

              Actually I did score.
I drove 5 minutes to the next wally and the clerk sold me 5 boxes instead of the "required three max", bless her heart.
              It's a karmic thing.

douche bags. I hate this because I still haven't bought a 22 for my kids because of this. My kids are finally at the point i am ready to take them out and i cant do it for a reasonable price. It really pisses me off. Hell I want to go shoot trap and still cant find birdshot in north county SD

Some of these guys wait at the front of the store for hours before it opened.
Everyone walks to the counter when the doors open. Then they wait for the clerk to start opening the cases and selling. But common courtesy dictates that the person who got there first gets 1st choice on their 3 box limit and so on. Here you come walking in and instead of waiting like everyone else, start taking.
Even on black friday, there are lines.
You're disrupting the order of the universe.

Don't blame the guys who take the time and effort to wait in line to get ammo instead of complaining there is none when you stop in for motor oil.

ugh, people like those guys who i just ignore, and would of just gotten the ammo regardless. he can't get all the boxes, so he can go F""" off

It's fine, I'm glad you were able to avoid a confrontation and find more at the next wally world.

Brother, keep an eye open at Cabela's website. I just bought a box of 500 22LR for 29.00 shipped. Don't give up..

The Bass Pro Shops in Rancho always has bulk boxes of birdshot. I know its not local but it might be worth a drive...

Turners had 10/22 on sale last week for 200.00+...the guns are there, the ammo is there...just keep pluggin..

Walmart always has claybird for dirt cheap and everytime I have asked for 12ga birdshot they go in the back and get me a case. Its not everyday I buy 12ga but I always find it.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I avoid all walmarts, turners, dicks, etc. I prefer ordering online.

2 Cents Worth on Ammo Buyers

All the people buying and hourding are idiots.

There is no shortage other than the one they are creating.

The prices at the stores - when they have it is about what it was before. Only idiots that buy it online from someone else pay inflated prices.

All the fools that are buying up and storing are going to end up eating it, just like last time. I expect to see a bunch of these fools over in Del Mar gun show in a few months trying to unload the extra ammo.

In fact, at the last DelMar there was some ammo still being sold on Sunday.

                            People need to wake up.

                            1. They are not going to ban ammo

                            2. They are not going to register ammo.

                            3. They are not going to limit what you can buy.

All are unconstitutional and all would be struck down by the courts.

Actually I did from cabelas from the comfort of my bed, 100 .223 and a brick of 22. I only stood in line once but only because it was a sure thing. I waited an hour for 100 rnds of .223. Since it cost me $35 instead of $60 online, I'd say my time was worth $25/hr. Not bad since I don't get paid to sleep.
