This is pretty close. Insurance companies are like banks in that they make their money off investments and not the premiums they collect. They do not keep much if anything at all of the actual money you pay them. Most companies keep anywhere from -.04 to +.04 cents on each dollar collected. Read your policies and understand your coverage, they will only pay out was is covered in the policy contract. There is no such thing as FULL COVERAGE, so when there is a loss that isnt covered people feel cheated, when in reality they didnt understand their coverage. Agents are salesmen and points of contact, ask them to contact the claims department for more detailed answers to questions. Or try and get a hold of the claims dept yourself.
