    Poway range opening

Poway Weapons and Gear announced the opening of their new range in Poway! This is close to me and very exciting. What a move during times like these. Third largest in country...

Not close to me but hopefully it will take the crowds away from the other ranges.

        Best of luck to them!

Those prices are crazy. $200 for approval to shoot from a holster? I guess if you live nearby it could be worth it, but those prices are a little too high for me (although I have been called cheap from time to time ). Its nice see more ranges being built.

For the general shooter to use our range there is an annual safety briefing the staff needs to give the shooter at no cost. However, if shooters would like to get Dynamic Range Certified there is a Dynamic Range class that they must take or be waived by the Range staff for having specific and unique qualifications. The Dynamic Range class will be a 6 hour course with a cost of $200.

Costs of doing business in Poway is very high. Especially for the business owner. I'm glad I don't have so far to drive anymore.

I wonder how much to shoot there for non members.

Zooks, they are spendy. Cheapest annual is $499.00 and that only gets you the 25 yard range. Our club charges $150.00/year and we get the whole kit and caboodle (archery, shotgun, rifle out to 400 yards and two handgun ranges).

I was reading somewhere a few weeks ago that they just got the approval to build/open.

I think it might be in an already existing building.

I think I'll stick to DGM in Santee with those prices. One thing they have going for them is the 50 yd. and 100 yd. range, but that's why I go to SBR&G.

Sounds nice, I can see it being popular despite the higher prices. I bet there's a lot of new gun owners in the SD area who can easily afford it and would rather not drive far.
