    Need a bayonet

OK, I don't really need a bayonet, but I want one & that's reason enough for me to get one.

The rifle I want to mount it on is a Rossi M92 levergun, 16in barrel, .357 Magnum. I can't really cut back the magazine (which I've seen done on longer barreled leverguns) as that wouldn't leave me with a useful capacity. So, I'm thinking maybe have a figure-of-eight mount that encircles the barrel/magazine and takes the standard US military bayonet made up? Maybe have a spike bayonet mounted to the side, Brown Bess style? Maybe put it on top? No real preferences here.

As for why do I want one? Mostly to 'tick off' the grabbers. Having an "evil feature" is, in & of itself, worthwhile. Having one w/o penalty (because leverguns don't get rated on "evil features") amuses me.

Can this be done, or am I just nuts for even thinking of this?

So You don't want to do this because it will limit your ammunition capacity.

You could do this, but with a small bayonet.

I vote for nuts or at least a waste of time and materials.
          You asked.
BUT it is your firearm so do as you please.

The top picture is (partly) what inspired this (mad?) quest. Is it yours?

But, yes, if I go that route, I'd either have to go with a much longer barrel than I'd like, or lose just about all of my magazine capacity.

The small bayonet approach would do quite well, but I'm not sure it would fit on the Rossi. The space between barrel & magazine is a lot closer there than on the 12ga. But, there are a couple of "tactical" suppliers in my area & I will pay them a visit.

fiferronald, if I can get something to fit, I will for sure be posting pics. Stay tuned.

KISS Duct tape a piece of sharpened rebar to the Rossi. Get more stares, I bet people won't stand too close to you.

Bayonets are fun, wish there was range for bayonet practice
anyhow, search Amazon.com, I just bought an original Swedish Mauser bayonet for 50 bucks (with ship and handling), it is great piece of steel and history, mounts ok on german mauser and even if it did not fit looks great, just need to do some serious clean up on it

Why need a range? Can't you just use your back yard?

If you're in LA, I'll give you a M-16 Bayonet for free.

Of if you're not, anyone can have it. But must pick up at my convenience.

Why not just duct tape a rail road spike and call it done?

Or better yet get a sword and duck tape a gun to it.
