Wait now I am really confused, I recently had another CalGuns expert tell me I was stupid because I mentioned pre/post ban magazines and how the only legal ones to rebuild were the ones owned prior to the ban. According to said expert, "there was no such thing" and "as long as they (cops) couldn't prove you had purchased said hi-caps during the last 3 years (statute of limitations) there was no issue with having any capacity magazines you wanted".

Ok, a little less exuberance on the quoting might have helped the actually applicable part not get missed. Though in the real world, but for the "friend", it would never have been an issue for them or have been now possibly brought to the attention of ATF or DOJ lurkers on here.

Don't advise people to violate federal law.

[1]It was all laid out in post 8. The applicable laws were outlined, cited and quoted in full.

[2]It's not a matter of California law. It's a matter of federal law.

[3]A lot of FFL don't understand the federal law regarding transfers from a resident of one State to a resident of another.

          Maybe.

But at Calguns, as a policy we do not talk about what one 'might get away with'. People ask questions with real-world consequences, and they deserve accurate information to keep them out of jail.
