Welcome! It wasn't until I was 20 that I fired my first gun. (And thus began my firearm addiction.)

Don't forget to join the NRA.

I actually joined the NRA the day I decided I was going to purchase my rifle. I'm 30 so I started kinda late but I love it already.

                Welcome to the life!

Can an M&P 15-22 be limp-wristed? Isn't it an AR-15 chambered in .22LR and blowback operated?

welcome to the endless bottomless pit hobby of shooting ......I took one of my idiot buddy shooting yesterday playing with my ar. Today, he's called me that he just put money down on a spikes lower. He's never played with an ar before. He was so astonished on how different it is from real life shooting to his life long experience of video game shootings. He couldn't believe how easy it was to shoot my ar. How smooth it shot and how smooth the recoil pulse was. And how it was much much harder to keep the sights still and consistantly hit the target.

I know how your friend feels. I'd never shot a gun before so I was expecting, for whatever reason to struggle even hitting the target let alone the bullseye. On my fourth mag I just pulled up the sights and shot 10 rounds in about 3-4 seconds and kept the spread within 3 inches at 55 feet. I know that isn't far at all but I was at an indoor range it was as far as I could go :P

I can't wait to try out 100-300 yard shots, that will be really fun I bet.

Congrats on your first gun and first time. M&P15-22 is a great rifle. Good choice.

Don't worry about the ammo. The Win M-22 is not made well, IMO. They LRN is usually loose in the cartridge. However, they will still fire. It is a decent round for linking but dirty as heck. Out of 300, I only had one that would not chamber due to how badly the bullet was seated in the cartridge.
