Be that as it may, the velcro patch on the outside and the general makeup of the case still screams gun.

Get a regular padded case and then stick it inside a military issue seabag, nice and sturdy and reasonably discreet, and if you buy used it should be cheap too. Or to be a little more discreet there are regular side zipped duffles that sort of resemble sea bags. http://www.campingsurvival.com/oldrabsidzip.html

Usually just throw the AR in my ruger bag. Not totally incognito since it is ruger marked, but also doesn't stand out like a camo voodoo tactical drag bag.

Mine fits an Ithaca 37, Browning A5 synthetic and a Rem 870 in their soft bags, plus my clothes, other gear and lunch box. The zipped compartment up top (where the glove and balls are usually kept) can hold 8 or more boxes of shells. VERY convenient.

Take concealment to a whole new level with the Diversion Carry Racquet Bag. Featuring padded walls with an inner shell, this clever bag mimics an ordinary tennis raquet case but allows you to keep up to two firearms protected and out of sight.

My friend put his AR in his old high school tennis racket bag. It holds like 6 tennis rackets...fits fine w/o taken off scope or bipods. He stores ammo in another nylon like lunch bag...

He's cheap, but no one will ever think he's carrying a rifle at his apartment ...thumbs up to that!

And THIS is why I advocate inserting a gun-specific case inside of a discrete and nondescript duffle/gym bag to keep unwanted eyes off of your firearms when taking it from your vehicle, house, apartment, etc. If you're lucky enough to pull into your garage, then no worries. If you're typical and park on your driveway cuz your garage is the new storage unit , then this s important...especially if you don't trust you neighbor, your neighbor's neighbor, and anyone who happens to look in your direction.
I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Ok, that Emdom MM TNT gym bag looks very usable and discreet, & the black & silver is very GYM like, you know kinda looks like it's full of smelly shoes and stuff

Were looking pretty good on ideas so far, but please keep them coming

                      Thanks

I have the same sort of issue, lots of nosy neighbors in my condo complex.
A cheap guitar case can be found on the interwebs for not a lot of money, and holds an AR + mags really well. Completely invisible.
