I am surprised as how many believe the database are not linked. The databases may not be fully linked today. The trend is obvious. All the data will be linked together.

Tile guy. You got it exactly right. I was asked to step out of the vehicle so that the officer could show me what I did wrong. And you are right. It did need to be secured at 4 points, and with 4 individual chains.
Negolien, it's not about being paranoid or about me wearing a tinfoil hat. I simply asked whether they would check for gun ownership at every traffic stop.
So far CBR_ rider said all the databases are linked. Others seem to disagree. My guess it is ultimately up to the departments policy. I have no problems with them asking the question. I don't have to answer that question if I choose not to.
My concern is that of an officer making a big beal about my gun ownership just for a simple traffic stop.Comment

Its been my experience that while being stopped, to be polite and respectful. It will get the same in response. A yes sir/ma'am, no sir/ma'am goes along way. I have not been searched for or even asked about my weapons while under a traffic stop. I was pulled over not that long ago on the 101 on my way deer hunting. I had my utv in the back of my truck, rifle on back seat, in the open not in a case. I was in full camo and bullets in my bag in the cab with the rifle. I was nailed by not one patrol car but 4! Reason?... They just wanted to make sure I didn't steal my own utv. No biggie. Windows down, I'm sure the officers could see my rifle on the seat, with all the flash lights. My bag right next to it. Me in camo. No questions regarding the guns . I told him up front I'm on my way to a deer hunt. His reply after checking my vehicle regs .... "thanks for your cooperation and hope we didnt cost you the big one"Comment

Surg, I just want to make it clear that the systems are not necessarily LINKED but it is possible to get simultaneous returns from multiple systems (linked or not) via a single input. This is of course provided that the dispatching/computer software allows for such integration.Stay classy, CGF and Calguns.Originally posted by bwiese[BTW, I have no problem seeing DEA Agents and drug cops hanging from ropes, but that's a separate political issue.]Comment

I tried to read every post so this might have been answered...

This is troubling since you don't have a CCW.Comment

Doheny, I'm glad to hear that you check to make sure your license plate hasn't fallen off of your vehicle every single time you use it. Given your comment I'm sure you check your tires air pressure every morning too. this thread exists because i had a legitimate question, regarding what happened when i got pulled over. With all due respect you seem to be the first calgunner who seam to think this tread is pointless. I did not intentionally drive around without a license plate on my trailer. The plastic plate holder under the taillight must have broken at some point.
As previously stated, I do not get pulled over very often, and this has a lot to do with me not violating the vehicle code. This is probably why I was not cited during this traffic stop, or within the past 7 years.Comment

You did violate the vehicle code, you were driving without a plate.
He didn't cite you because he chose not to. That's the long and short of it.
Like I said, don't violate the CVC (which you were) and you greatly reduce your chances of being pulled over.Sent from Free AmericaComment
