A replacement pistol/serialized-frame does require a new DROS but there is NO 10 day wait. In the last couple years I have had two pistols replaced under warranty (1ParaOrd/1Ruger) and neither required a wait nor counted against 1-in-30. There was a block on the DROS that specified warranty replacement exemption.

Ruger sent me a check to cover the DROS fee, while Para sent me some free magazines along with the pistol as compensation.

Thought I'd give a quick update; I went to my local Turner's to find out what happened. They showed me on the paperwork that the first dros WAS successfully cancelled and showed on the second dros that it IS a 1 in 30 exempted dros. So, it appears that CA DOJ is the one who screwed up and didn't read the dros paperwork correctly. Turner's acknowedged that getting thru to CA DOJ is nigh impossible but the manager said if they call him with another person's dros hold or denial that he will address my situation with them at that time and hopefully it will be addressed quickly. Ahhh, big government; they do so little for so much!!!

Hmmm, that's not what Turner's told me. They said I had to wait the additional 10 days. On the other hand; RIA was cool and did comp me four boxes of new .45 ammo for my inconvenience.

I think a talk with the Turner's manager would be in order.
