Wow, I'm in complete shock! I've been going there off and on for the last 20 years to buy guns and other stuff! San Jose won't be the same without them.

I shared what I've noticed to be a very popular opinion around here - poor, disgruntled service at the sports shop, quality professional service at the range.

I hope this consolidation props up the service in the FFL business while not causing the range service to suffer at all. =/

Works out great for me since I live 5 minutes from their indoor range I got my 1911 and M1A on one of their sales 3 years ago.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

I liked Reed's shop. They were a little expensive, but given the costs doing any firearms business in KALIFORNIA, you really can't blame them.

I'm glad at least the range portion will be still open.

I really must make it over to SJGX (san jose gun exchange). I've never been there in my years here in the bay area.

My thinking exactly. They will need to significantly cut down the selection to get it to fit into the display case at the back... there goes the book and knife selection. It will be a lot of fun in there on the weekends, its already a zoo when they have classes, never mind trying to run a storefront.

Not much room? That place used to be stocked with guns when it was NSC. I think if they rearrange, it can be done.

Right, right. I haven't been there in a while. Last I heard they had there FFL yanked, but that was a while ago. Did they just get it back?

roger that. they kind of sucked, but was a decent place to go spend money... Better than most of the other stores (and it's 2 miles from home..)
