Seriously though the statistic is 4 out of 5 who make a serious attempt at suicide survive. I have not seen is spelled out as making 4 out of 5 people attempting suicide becoming retarded.

I would think a gun shot to the head would be rather effective. I think the most effective though is jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge as well over 90% are fatalities and I think for the remainder that survive they actually get smarter as I have never heard of a survivor committing suicide later.

When I was in highschool I went on a sherrif ride along. As we were driving through an area in the east county he pointed to a guy and called him buckshot. He said he had tried to kill himself with a shotgun once.

Also, I'm not so sure the GG Bridge is such a sure thing either. Some people survived falls from it with only broken bones, and one woman jumped from the bridge twice.

Probably, but do they survive long enough floating around after a fall like that waiting to be rescued? I bet there's lots of fall survivors, but lots of drowning victims!

Apparently (according to the always accurate Wikipedia) there have only been 26 survivors up to 2005 but most of them died of ruptured spleens and internal injuries afterwards.
